The Accelerated Reader (AR) program is designed to challenge children to become better readers. Students are matched with a book appropriate to their reading level. They are challenged, but not frustrated.
When using AR, the student first chooses and reads a book at his or her own pace. Next, he or she takes an AR reading quiz on the computer. The student and the teacher are given immediate feedback.
