TIGER EXPLORERS HIT THE TOWN!!

The Tiger Explorers went on a bus tour of local historical sites around Mt. Vernon. The group traveled down the Choctaw Trail to the Cherokee Trace to the original site of the 1841 Ripley Massacre, east of Mt. Vernon. The next stop on the tour was Fannin Springs on Holbrook Street. This was the original site of the city of Mt. Vernon. Tour guide was Mr. B.F. Hicks. The group also enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Mt. Vernon Cafe.

4TH GRADERS ENJOY, "WESTERN DAY!"

Kyler Deal, along with many other 4th grade friends, waltzed into school this past Wednesday in cowboy/cowgirl gear.
ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A FIFTH GRADER?
Local "prestigious" citizens of the community competed against Mt. Vernon 5th graders in a mock version of the famous tv show - "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?" Attendance was extraordinary. Pizza was served. And all of those in attendance got a good taste of what the upcoming taks tests is like. Oh. . .by the way - the 5th graders won!!!
