    Mr. Bass
Anything less than your best effort is not acceptable
Pre AP Biology
This is a college level course that is used to introduce students to AP biology. A student taking this class needs to have an interest in higher level science and be willing to spend time every night on the subject. Note taking ability will be a great bonus. Labs are used to demonstrate the subject matter. For safety reasons students are NOT ALLOWED TO WEAR FLIPFLOPS ON LAB DAYS. Due to time some labs may be before or after school to insure that we get thim completed. Student will need a wire bound graphing note book to keep lab reports in.
AP Biology
AP Biology is a continuation of Pre AP and is also on a college level. The student should have completed the Pre AP class. Requirments for this class are the same as Pre AP. The student may use last year's lab book if it is in good repair. Next year, because of changes by the state, summer work will be required for incoming freshmen.
Pre AP Chemistry
This class is a college level course in chemistry. The student will need a wire bound graphing notebook to keep their lab reports. For safety reasons, students may NOT WEAR FLIPFLOPS ON LAB DAYS. Calculators will be needed. Lab safety is a priority and if the student refuses to follow the lab safety rules they will not be allowed to do labs. These rules will be discussed in class and a form will be sent home to be signed by the parents. If the student has soft contact lenses check with his/her doctor to make sure the lens will not absorb fumes that might escape an experiment.
AP Chemistry
This is a continuation of Pre AP Chemistry. This class will be a lab centered course. The student should have completed Pre AP Chemistry. The same rules and requirements apply to this class as Pre AP Chem.
Anatomy and Physiology
This class is an in-depth study on the human body. I teach this on a college level and it is recommended for students that are interested in becoming a nurse, going into the medical field or being a veternarian. All of the systems of the body are studied. Dissection of the cat, sheep heart, and cow's eye are used to compare to the human body. The student will need a wire bound drawing book to keep their lab drawings in. After each body system is completed, there will be a required mini paper covering a disease of that system. The paper must be in a clear plastic folder, typed, double spaced, with a minimum of four pages. A works-cited page is required.
