English II and Pre-AP English II Supply List

Dear Students,

Every item does not have to be purchased at the beginning of the school year; however, it is important that you have a pen, notebook paper, and a folder by the second day of class.

Dividers (optional)
6 Folders with brads and pockets
300 - white notebook paper (College-ruled is preferred.)
Highlighters
Blue or black ink pens
2 Red ink pens
100 -- 3X5 white, ruled index cards
1 box Kleenex or other brand tissues
Scissors
Correction fluid such as Wite Out [sic] (optional)


ENGLISH II
This course is a basic study of the rules of English grammar, usage, and mechanics with new rules and usage fields added. All standard English usage is then applied to composition writing that includes expository, descriptive, narrative, persuasive, and research papers. Literature includes novels, short stories, plays, and poetry of more advanced nature than English I. Outside reading will be required. Prerequisite English I.




PRE-AP ENGLISH II

An in-depth study of English and British literature, grammar, and composition. Students are expected to complete advanced assignments and to develop critical thinking skills. Students are expected to complete one novel each six-weeks period with an accompanying project as well as summer reading and vocabulary assignments. Prerequisite English I or Pre-AP English I.
