Bienvenidos a Español II y III
Welcome to Spanish II and III! In these classes we will study the 5 C’s: Communication, Culture, Connections, Comparisons, and Community. While we will spend some time learning the basics of Spanish grammar, we will also take time to explore the many places in the world where Spanish is spoken and the many different kinds of people who speak Spanish. We’ll learn to have fun and laugh together as we try to communicate in a new language. We’ll investigate how Spanish language and cultures connect to other subjects and compare them to what we already know about our own language and culture. Finally, we’ll look for ways to participate in cross-cultural activities within our own community.
Why bother with Spanish?
It's the fourth most commonly spoken language in the world after English, Chinese and Hindustani.
400 million people speak it.
It is the easiest foreign language for English speakers to learn.
Learning one foreign language makes is easier to learn others later.
It improves your understanding of English.
It increases your opportunities at college and in the work force.
It encourages cultural understanding.
You can communicate with the growing number of Spanish speakers in the U.S.
It makes traveling in Spanish speaking countries more fun.
It's fun and gives you a sense of achievement.
