Mount Vernon High School Grading Guidelines
Our district grading policy is meant to assess the TEKS and to measure what students are learning in their classes. Classroom grades are an important indicator of student progress in the classroom. Our MVISD grading policy is listed below. You may contact me, one of our counselors or your child's teacher for more informaiton about his / her grades.

• A reporting period grade should reflect knowledge of subject matter.
• The primary purpose of homework is for reinforcement of learned skills, not new learning or determining mastery
• There will be a minimum of eleven (11) grades, three (3) of which must be major tests or projects. These eleven (11) grades will determine the six weeks final grade.
• Grades should be entered into the Pinnacle (electronic gradebooks system) immediately after they have been graded. Parents have access to grades and rely upon the Pinnacle system to view student progress.
