I graduated from L. D. Bell High School in Hurst in 1976. From there I went to Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches. I graduated in December 1979 with a degree in Agriculture Education. After moving to Mt. Vernon in 1981, I went to East Texas State University in Commerce and added my math degree. I began teaching math at Mount Vernon High School in August 1981. In 2006, I was able to return to my original teaching field and began teaching Agriculture classes along with my math classes. I currently teach three sections of Agriculture and three sections of Geometry.

My husband Bruce retired from teaching at MVHS in 2006. Now he hunts and ranches full-time. We have four children. Brian graduated from MVHS in 2002. Bonne graduated from MVHS in 2004. Brady graduated from MVHS in 2007. Baily will graduate in 2011.
